TELMEX ACQUIRES ENLACE SPANISH YELLOW PAGES
Louisville, KY, U.S.A. October 24, 2006 - Blue Equity, LLC and Teléfonos de México, S.A. de C.V. (TELMEX) (BMV:TELMEX; NYSE:TMX; NASDAQ:TFONY; LATIBEX:XTMXL) announced today that TELMEX has acquired an 80% controlling interest in the affiliate of Blue Equity, LLC that publishes Enlace Spanish Yellow Pages. In connection with the acquisition, such affiliate has changed its name to SECCIÓN AMARILLA USA, LLC.
TELMEX will rebrand the U.S. directories with the SECCIÓN AMARILLA logo and name, a brand with over 100 years of experience in the directory business and currently with over 135 directories published and distributed throughout Mexico. Enlace is the largest independent Spanish yellow page directory publisher in the United States with over 32 directories published and distributed nationwide in more than 18 States. Blue Equity will retain an equity stake in the new entity and will continue to operate the United States division of the directory business in conjunction with TELMEX.
